An initial consultation can take place via email or phone to discuss a possible portrait commission. This would just be an initial chat to answer any questions and for me to gain an idea of the portrait subject. We would also discuss options of size and prices. You can then have time to consider or simply decide to go ahead with the commission, at which point the portrait specifications and price can be agreed.

An initial payment equal to 50% of the total fee will be required to secure the commission and then I can begin taking photographs of the subject to work from. I will usually visit to take the photographs, where the subject will be in their own surroundings.

I will then begin painting the portrait and give you a date when the painting will be delivered or can be collected. For a single head and shoulders portrait this will usually be about 6 to 8 weeks. Double portraits and multi-figure portraits will obviously take longer.

The remaining 50% of the fee will then be due upon delivery / collection of the portrait.
